Going on Three Weeks!

Well Ellie is now pushing towards three weeks old. She now weighs 7lbs 8oz. She is growing so much already. We are working very hard on getting her on a two hour feeding schedule. This has been challenging at times but who's not up for a challenge? Ellie's life consists of eating, sleeping, and diaper changes. How exciting!

We are very happy that calli does very well with her. Call sniffs her sometimes but other than that Calli ignores her.

I have added a few pictures below of Ellie.

Giving time of the year

We are at that time of year where giving to those in need is very important. In this country we are very privaleged with everything we have. Matt and I give through different activities that we do with our small group. Last year we chose a gift to purchace off the giving tree at church. Our small group chips in money to purchace these gifts for a needy child/family. There are so many different serving oppportunities this time of year. Please remember all the people in need not only this holiday season but throughout the whole year.

One more week!

Well we are due in one week. I am hoping that Ellie decides to either come early or on time. I really do not want to go to long after my due date.I am having spurts where certain things need put away and cleaned and Matt is handeling that very well since a lot of it is lifting which he has to do.
We had Calli's appointment yesterday and she is allowed to walk 10-20 minutes a day then we can up that every few days. This was very exciting because she loves her walks. Although, being in a kennel for two months has led her to be very out of shape. We took her for a walk yesterday and her breathing sounded horrible so we had to turn around and head back home. We will try another small walk today. She was also wore out and went to bed very early. It was cute!
Our family is very excited about Ellie coming and every time someone misses a call from me they panic when calling back thinking I am in labor and they missed my call. It's funny how our parents are calling to check on me before they go anywhere an hour or more just to make sure I won't be in labor and need to get back. Matt and I just laugh.
Matt and I are very excited about the holiday season. We are spending Thanksgiving at home since Ellie will only be about a week or so old. Everyone wants us everywhere but we have decided to just say home this year. Christmas will be hetic as usual although we are going to be slowing down a little compared to previous years. We want to be home on Christmas morning and start that tradition with our little girl. Well we will post sometime soon with details about our little girl and some pictures=)

Ellie's almost here!

Well we are three weeks away from our due date. At this point we are ready to meet our little girl. I love that when I talk to her she always moves. It makes me want to talk to her at all times, but I also know she needs her sleep. We are blessed with great family and friends that showered us with everything we needed.
Calli is recovering well from her surgery. You would never know that she had knee surgery as she is now wanting to run around the house. Her appointment is November 11th and hopefully we (Matt)can start her rehab with small daily walks. Well I had more intentions to post more often but I am not a very wordy person and I struggle just to write. I will try to post again soon and we will definately post some pictures of Ellie once she arrives.

Bussiness!

As you can see the title of this update is business. It's a great type of business though. We had a baby shower a few weeks ago up in Michigan. We got lots of great things for Ellie and her room. We can't wait for our other showers to get more goodies to get ready for her.
We got back from Michigan and had several doctor appointments for our dog Calli. She ended up having knee surgery but is doing great. She only has 7 more weeks of recovery in her pen. Her recovery will take to up until Ellie is due and then we can start walking her short distances at a time. She gets her twelve staples out on Wednesday.
Matt has been working very hard to get Red's tickets for a boys home in Cincinnati. We got them and our small group met the boys at the Great American Ballpark this last Sunday. It was a great serving opportunity. It really looked and sounded as though the boys had a great time. We were worried that it might rain the whole time which normally means we wouldn't go. We all put ourselves aside and realized that this was for the boys and not for us. I hope God continues to give us these opportunities to help these boys more often.
Well this weekend I have two showers so it will be a fun and exciting weekend. It will be nice to see some of family that we only really get to see when there is something like this going on. I will post again soon.
God Bless,
Matt and Staci

What we are up too!

Well I was looking at our blog and realized we have not updated it recently. So here I am trying to come up with some updates about our family.
We have changed our little girls name to be Ellie Afton Trapp. It is so hard to come up with a name and stick to it. I really think this will be the final name for her so we can call her by her name when we are talking to her. Yes, I talk to this little human inside of me. Matt doesn't as much, but has time gets closer he does more and more. We just can't wait to hold her and see what she looks like beyond the ultrasound that was done at 20 weeks.
Matt has been traveling for work some. He wants to have his traveling done in mid-October so he can be here close to when Ellie arrives. His plans are to be able to stay home from traveling until January.
School has started in the district that I substitute teach for. I have been off so far this week being it's the first week of school. It will probably be picking up in here soon. I am hoping to be able to work some before Ellie arrives. Then I will probably take off until the 1st of the year, and maybe for the rest of the school year. Who knows!
We have some really fun events coming up with volunteering with Church, and some family activities that we will be updating on here soon. Stay Tuned!
